Your Skin Has Secrets. We Have Questions.

Inside The Mansion’s newest obsession with VISIA®, the science of beautiful skin, and why the most sophisticated treatment plan begins long before the first laser pulse.

By Debra K. Menke | Founder, The Mansion

There are things we know about our skin.

Our favorite moisturizer. The little line that appeared seemingly overnight. The sunspot we swear wasn’t there last summer.

And then there are the things our skin knows about us.

Oh, if only it could talk.

Well, as it turns out, it has quite a lot to say.

And at The Mansion, we’ve found a rather fascinating way to listen.

Meet VISIA®.

Our newest obsession. One of our most significant investments in skin technology. And quite possibly the most interesting conversation you’ll have about your complexion.

Because after twenty-five years in aesthetics, I’ve learned something rather important.

The more you know about skin, the more you realize there is to discover.

And when someone trusts us with theirs?

I believe we have an obligation to keep looking.

Beautiful Skin Is Lovely. Understanding It Is Everything.

Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get nearly enough attention in aesthetics.

Responsibility.

We’re living in an extraordinary era of skin technology. Lasers are more sophisticated. Microneedling continues to evolve. Radiofrequency has introduced new possibilities for noninvasive rejuvenation.

The options are exciting.

But owning advanced equipment and knowing precisely how to use it are two very different things.

At The Mansion, we work with technologies including MOXI® laser rejuvenation, SkinPen® microneedling, and Glo₂Facial™ + RF Pro™ radiofrequency.

Each is remarkable in its own way.

Each addresses different concerns.

And none should be approached as though every face were the same.

Not every complexion needs the same treatment.

Not every concern requires the same approach.

And certainly, not every guest belongs on the same laser setting, microneedling depth, or treatment protocol.

Imagine if we approached couture that way.

One dress. One size. Everyone.

Absolutely not.

The more advanced the treatment, the greater our responsibility to understand the skin we’re treating.

That belief is precisely why we brought VISIA to The Mansion.

What Is VISIA Skin Analysis, Exactly?

Think of VISIA® as an exceptionally observant beauty editor.

Only instead of critiquing your wardrobe, she’s examining your complexion.

And she notices everything.

VISIA is an advanced facial imaging and analysis system that uses specialized photography and software to evaluate eight distinct characteristics of your skin.

Some are familiar.

The eight features VISIA examines:

  • Spots: Visible freckles, sunspots, and pigmentation.

  • Wrinkles: Fine lines and wrinkle patterns.

  • Texture: Unevenness and surface irregularities.

  • Pores: Their visibility and distribution.

  • UV Spots: UV-related pigmentation that may not appear under ordinary lighting.

  • Brown Spots: Patterns of uneven pigmentation.

  • Red Areas: Redness and visible vascular patterns.

  • Porphyrins: Fluorescent markers associated with certain bacteria in pores.

VISIA gives us another perspective on what we’re seeing during your professional skin consultation.

It doesn’t replace an experienced eye.

It gives that eye more information.

And for a team that takes skin health as seriously as we do?

We’re officially geeking out.

And Then There’s Your TruSkin Age®.

You know how old you are.

Your skin, however, may have a slightly different opinion.

VISIA’s TruSkin Age® feature compares measured characteristics of your complexion with a reference database to estimate your skin’s relative age.

It’s not your biological age. And it certainly isn’t a verdict on how beautifully you’re aging.

It’s another piece of information that can help guide the conversation.

VISIA can also simulate how your face might appear as the years go by — even illustrating an aged appearance up to age eighty.

Fascinating? Absolutely.

Slightly terrifying? Ummmm… yes.

But here’s what I love about it.

This isn’t about chasing youth.

It’s about understanding where your skin is today and making thoughtful decisions about how to care for it tomorrow.

Knowledge is a beautiful thing.

Even when it comes with a few surprises.

MOXI®, SkinPen® and Glo₂Facial™ + RF Pro™: Different Technologies. Different Purposes.

One of the questions we’re asked most often is surprisingly simple:

Which treatment is best?

And our answer?

That depends.

Not because we’re trying to be mysterious.

Because good aesthetics is personal.

MOXI®: For the Complexion That Wants a Fresh Perspective

Sun damage. Uneven pigmentation. Changes in tone and texture.

MOXI® is a nonablative fractional laser designed to address visible signs of sun damage and early skin aging.

It’s one of the technologies we turn to when the conversation centers on complexion clarity, refinement, and rejuvenation.

But the treatment plan — including settings, intensity, and timing — must be chosen for the individual.

Your skin history matters.

Your goals matter.

And your professional assessment matters.

SkinPen®: When Texture Deserves a Closer Look

SkinPen® microneedling uses controlled micro-injuries to stimulate the skin’s natural remodeling response.

It’s an option for concerns such as acne scarring and certain wrinkles, with suitability determined through a professional assessment.

And here’s something worth understanding.

Microneedling isn’t simply about going deeper.

Appropriate treatment depth and technique depend on the treatment area, indication, skin characteristics, and clinical judgment.

More isn’t automatically better.

Better is better.

Glo₂Facial™ + RF Pro™: The Art of Skin Maintenance Meets Advanced Technology

Now, this is where our philosophy of ongoing skin health becomes especially interesting.

Glo₂Facial™ has become an important part of the way we care for skin at The Mansion.

And with RF Pro™ radiofrequency, the experience brings together several complementary technologies.

RF Pro™ uses controlled radiofrequency energy to improve the appearance of firmness and mild to moderate facial wrinkles.

Oxfoliation™ combines gentle exfoliation with the treatment’s oxygenation process.

Ultrasound supports the application of customized skin-care ingredients.

Lymphatic-style detox massage completes the experience.

Four thoughtfully sequenced modalities, designed to address skin quality through a personalized, noninvasive treatment.

For some guests, Glo₂Facial + RF Pro may be part of their ongoing skin-maintenance plan.

For others, we may recommend a different approach, or carefully schedule treatments around more intensive procedures.

The important part isn’t fitting every technology into every appointment.

It’s knowing which technology belongs in your plan.

The Most Important Technology in the Treatment Room? Expertise.

Here’s something I want every guest to understand.

VISIA® doesn’t determine laser settings or microneedling depth for us.

That requires expertise.

It also doesn’t directly measure collagen production or show every layer of the dermis.

What it does offer is a detailed, repeatable way to evaluate selected visible and imaging-detected characteristics of the complexion.

Our team interprets that information alongside your medical and skin history, professional examination, concerns, and goals.

At The Mansion, that expertise comes from our licensed estheticians with advanced training:

Deb, Cori + Kristina.

Together, we’re interested in more than what treatment you booked.

We want to understand why you’re here.

What you’re hoping to change.

What you’ve tried before.

And what a realistic, thoughtful treatment plan might accomplish.

Because the machine is only one part of the experience.

The judgment behind it is everything.

Your Skin. Your Report. Your Plan.

So what actually happens during a VISIA® consultation at The Mansion?

First, we take your facial images using the VISIA system.

Then we examine the findings together.

Not as a list of imperfections to fix.

As information worth understanding.

You’ll receive a printed skin analysis with your photographs and results, along with a professional consultation and personalized recommendations for advanced treatments and at-home skin care.

We may discuss MOXI.

We may discuss SkinPen.

We may explore Glo₂Facial + RF Pro, a carefully selected skin-care protocol, or a combination of treatments spaced appropriately over time.

Or we may decide that your skin needs something entirely different.

That’s the point of a consultation.

To make an informed recommendation, not force a predetermined treatment.

And perhaps my favorite part?

We establish a baseline.

Six months later, we can take another set of images and compare the characteristics VISIA measures.

The same face.

A new set of information.

An opportunity to evaluate progress, reassess concerns, and refine the plan.

Because we don’t simply want someone telling you that your skin looks beautiful.

I want us to understand what has changed — and what we should do next.

The Mansion Standard

When I founded The Mansion, I didn’t set out to create a place with the longest treatment menu.

I wanted to create a place where experience, technology, education, and genuine care could exist together.

Where a guest could ask questions.

Where we would take the time to answer them.

And where our recommendations would be guided by what we know about the person sitting in front of us.

Not simply by the technology sitting beside us.

VISIA is one more expression of that philosophy.

We will continue to study.

To question.

To invest in our team and our technology.

And to expect more of ourselves.

Because beautiful skin is lovely.

But understanding it well enough to care for it thoughtfully — and having the insight to evaluate your progress?

That’s The Mansion standard.

Take a breath. Take your time. We’ll take it from here.
